David Epstein seems to be a bizarro-world Malcolm Gladwell. He took something very simple, used a little data, a couple of sports stories, a dash of history to come up with some something very readable, but unsatisfying shallow.

A bit disappointing because I think in general he’s right, and there’s an argument to be made for the “triumph of the generalist”, but I’m not sure he made it well.

It’s a quick read though, so I can’t complain too much.
